September was a busy month! We were thrilled to provide 4 Happy Gameday events this month! Our first event was a UGA football game at Sanford Stadium. We partnered with Chosen for Life Ministries out of Athens to take a beautiful family of 6 to the Georgia vs Ball State game. From the weather, to the tailgate to the smiles and excitement on the kids’ faces…it was a perfect day!
Chosen for Life Ministries began ten years ago when a small group of people began to dream of a ministry that could raise awareness and provide support for adoptive families. A lot has happened over the last ten years, but we believe that there is still more to be done. Visit them at chosenforlifeministries.org
Our second event was a trip to Disney on Ice! We partnered with Murphy Harpst Children’s Home to send 6 kids and staff to see Magic in the Stars! The kids loved it!
Murphy-Harpst is an independent not-for-profit organization committed to meeting the needs of abused and neglected young people through residential treatment, placements in specialized foster care, and community programs that serve at-risk youth and their families. In partnership with the United Methodist Women national office, our services are available to all children regardless of sex, race, color, or creed, and whose needs can be addressed and treated within the scope of program services. We had the privilege of sending a family of 5 to a Braves game and it was magical! For one of the boys, it was his “dream come true”! Not only did the Braves win, but their favorite player, Acuna, made history by recording 40 homeruns and 70 stolen bases in a single season, and they were there to witness it. How cool is that?
Our last event happened thanks to a last-minute ticket donation from one of our supporters! Thanks to this generous donation, we partnered with Murphy Harpst Children’s Center to send a chaperone and 2 boys to a Georgia Tech Football game! For one of the boys, it was his dream come true to attend a college football game. We love helping make these kids’ dreams come true. That is why we do this, and that is why we are so grateful for your continued support!
