July 2023
We were very excited to provide 4 Happy Gameday events in July! For our first event, six kids and staff from Calvary Children's Home had a very Happy Gameday at an Atlanta Braves game. For our second event, we sent 7 kids and staff from Murphy Harpst Children’s Home to Six Flags over Georgia! For our third event, we were able to sponsor 8 girls for Hillgrove High School’s Cheer Camp. Our last event was another Braves game with Murphy Harpst. What a great month it was!
Founded in 1966, Calvary Children’s Home is a home for children in the Metro Atlanta area that need to live apart from their families. They provide a safe, loving, Christian home for these children while providing them with a stable home life. Their goal is to give the children entrusted in their care the very best skills, education, and values so that they may become responsible, productive members of society. Visit them at calvarykids.org. to learn who they are and how you can support them.
Murphy-Harpst, in partnership with the United Methodist Women’s national office, is an independent not-for-profit organization committed to meeting the needs of abused and neglected young people through residential treatment, placements in specialized foster care, and community programs that serve at-risk youth and their families. Visit them at murphyharpst.org. to learn more about who they are and how you can support them.
Six kids and staff from Calvary Children's Home had a very Happy Gameday at the Atlanta Braves game a few weeks ago. What a great game! On top of a 9 to 0 victory by the Braves, Matt Olsen hit a Grand Slam in the first inning! Now that's a Happy Gameday!
One of the chaperones for the game spent over 12 years at Calvary Children's Home growing up. He and his wife now have a beautiful family and were very happy to take this group of awesome kids to experience this game and build lifetime memories.
The Murphy Harpst kids and staff had a blast at Six Flags and rode as many rides as possible. We were able to provide them tickets and money for parking and food for their Happy Gameday at an amusement park. We also had the privilege of taking 3 kids and one staff member from Murphy Harpst to a Braves game in the Delta Club! We had the best seats in the house and all the food you can eat! It was another great game and the Braves pulled off another victory!
We were so happy to sponsor 8 girls for cheer camp at Hillgrove High School. As you can see from the pictures, they have mad skills and had a ball!
Everyone deserves a Happy Gameday! We would not be able to continue providing Happy Gameday experiences to these deserving kids and families without your support.
